Short Steel Bending Official Rules

These rules aren’t suggestions. They’re requirements. Break them and your bend doesn’t count. You must use official SSB steel only. Our “poundage” bars. Not some random bolt from Home Depot. Not Iron-Mind steel. Not hardware store mystery metal. If it didn’t come from us, it doesn’t count.

You have 60 seconds. Period. This isn’t a marathon. It’s a violent sprint to answer one question: How much force can you generate in the shortest amount of time? If your bend takes 61 seconds, it’s a fail. We reward power and speed, not endurance and stubbornness.

The Process (Follow It Exactly):

Pre-wrap your bar with SSB suede or nylon ONLY. Single or double wraps. Your call.
Hold the bar at chest height in ready position. Timer ready.
Bend as fast as humanly possible using only your hands and forearms. No body leverage except extreme upper chest/neck area. No cheating with your legs or torso.
Stop the timer when you believe the bar ends are two inches apart.
Remove the bar from the wraps. Lay it flat on a table. Measure the gap between the ends. Must be 2 inches or less.
